I thought the High End looked pretty good..
But since it's an F3J glider, I didn't expect the fuse to look like anything
but thin. The thing to appreciate is the wing.
That's the tool, that is what we are flying, and it's the part that changes the
most.
Look at a full scale glider.. The fuse
The Cole Hersee solenoids that had failures are the 24059 and 24037.

Yes. Laminating film is very thin and not very tough. You can cover planes
with it. It's easy to get at any large format print shop. They often have
roll ends that they can't use because they aren't long enough.
I use clear adheasive backed carpet covering from Lowes to cover plans with.

George,
Are all the failures on the same winch?

The failures were on 2 different winches. All winches are Tim McCann
winches, all have Cole Hersee solenoids. The only difference is one winch
has a Ford 6V motor, the other has an Injoy 6V motor (not the new ones). We
run with 12v batteries. We have replaced the solenoids with the same

George, when installing the solenoids you must use 2 wrenches. One to
keep the lugs from turning (it has a nut on the lug), the other to
tighten the nut.
Do you know if that was done?

No but in the future I'll be sure it's done.

I have maintained the Eastern Soaring League winches for several years. The
one thing I've never had to replace an any of the four winches are the
solenoids. There was one time when it appeared that there was a solonoid
failure. Upon closer examination, it was just a loose connection that had
Guys:
I bounced my Sirius Pro charger off the concrete floor; it still worked,
sort of, but was a little flakey. It had definitely slid down the scale a bit
from JR Spektrum toward Used Air Hog in terms of reliability.
So I emailed George Joy at Peak Electronics, and he said ship it

Probably the fuse on FS sailplanes would have thinned down a lot over the
years except for the fact that the servos and control system have not
gotten any smaller over time like they have in our RC planes.

Has anyone used P.L.Daniel's method of using
laminating film for covering a built-up plane?
He has allot of articles on building on his web site.
He also talks about using Hot Glue for gluing carbon fiber to spares. ??
