When I attended the F3J Team trials last year they scanned 50 and 53 mhz. I have never been shot down on the Ham bands. There are a few repeaters in the Ohio area around the 53.800 range. Check the ARRL repeater directory if your not sure. Jeff

I have one of the old and new JR 610ms There problem with the old one was the length of the antenna. It was shortened for micro flying and degraded the range. The length of the new antennas are 36 inches. This I believe is all that was done to fix the problem. They are not duel conversion. But

Edgar I fly on both. When I lived in Ohio you had to watch for 6 meter repeaters in the area. They were in the 53.6 -53.8 range. So I simply stayed as low as I could 53.1. On the 50mhz side I have had no problem with any of the freqs. I think all the major radios only offer 50
