On a similar note, when I was learning to fly back in the early 90s in
upstate NY, Bill Johnson the kind gentleman that that was mentoring me, said
to meet him at the flying field one afternoon. As I drove up I watched him
do a beautiful launch with his RES (something that started with an M... :)
o our surprise, it was sitting pretty, unharmed between two industrial
warehouses.
I guess the helicopter action was not like a spiral death to the ground.

Actually my "tree story" took place at an ESL event in 2005 at the S. Jersey
Silent Flyers field. I was there with my fiancee who had never been to a
soaring event before. Kathy was with me all through out the flying
