I am currently running freebsd 8.0-RELEASE on my Net 5501 and it seems utterly reliable. I have the native freebsd running a firewall/broadband router and then a mail server running in a jail, and a web server running in a another jail. It's powered by an old car battery and runs for months on end

Hi everyone, I build a NanoBSD image on FreeBSD 7 for my Soekris and Alix boxes. I probably should upgrade it to FreeBSD 8; but skimming the FreeBSD lists it seems like there are a few gotchas related to the small/embedded systems. Is that right, or should I expect things to "just work"?
