SDK: C++ Custom Operator port connections

2014-10-01 Thread Matt Lind
I have a Custom Operator written using the C++ SDK, and it uses dynamic port connections. 1) From inside the _Update() callback, how can I determine the number of connected ports in a dynamic custom operator where the number of input ports is arbitrary and not known ahead of time? For example,

Thank you very much Simon, i seem to understand that my information was outdated and that people use momentum chiefly through ICE now with the compounds not the default menus, i saw one of Adam's tests today, which i hope to put into practice. thanks for taking the time for clarification, much app

thanks for the help! Ok cool. Does every every point have the same amount of vectors in strandposition, unless specified? How would I go about altering strandposition based on length and get that data into the segment number? I thought i could just get the: strandposition --> Get Array Size --> n

Re: Strand segment based on lenght

2014-10-01 Thread Vladimir Jankijevic
yes you can. every point in the pointcloud has an attribute called strandposition which is an array of vectors. the size of this array defines how many strandsegments that point has. best, vladimir On Wed, Oct 1, 2014 at 12:08 PM, Will Sharkey wrote: > Can you alter the number of segments of st

Can you alter the number of segments of strands based on length? eg small strands have 2 segments and large stands have 8 segments? Or are segments constant across a point cloud? cheers.

@sven, I'm also using a similar vertical monitor setup. I have it on the right though. I find I like the extra vertical space when dealing with layers in an AE comp. Haven't found my ideal Softimage setup for it yet. On Tue, Sep 30, 2014 at 5:08 PM, Sven Constable wrote: > I'm also using wacoms

All the parts flying everywhere at the start of the simulation implies they are all interesecting, if not, perhaps their shapes are? (convex hull/ box shape etc.) There are quite a few samples scene files that come with it, maybe they have some things in them in terms of tutorials/ICE tree set ups
