textcoding wil
textcoding will cost money to our clients:
it's time consuming, and
not responding to the (cinema)scope of the producers demands.
just watched today's houdini16 geometry workflow tutorial.
the only result of these avant-gardist mathematical researches,
is the corresponding repetitivity in any 3d
I don’t think so. As Jonathan mentioned already, conditionals and flow control
is often easier to ‘read’ in text form than it is in a node graph.
Every tool has its place, so does code in text form :D
Happy weekend.

I most admit one of the things I like about VEX is that I find it very
readable. Especially for anything involving loops and flow control. Nodes are
horrendous for that

to me Houdini represents the best hope for later.

I personally have been waiting for good character tutorials for more
than 2 years now.
The vex one will stay on ICE for now.(see what I did there)
I'm much more comfortable making pictures with pictures, rather than
pictures with words.
vops will have to do :)

With you there Andy ref the VDB tools. Much like the Entagma boys have been
showing, VDB’s in Houdini are about so much more than what you'd traditionally
think of as volumetric workflows.

Definitely useful. Thanks Jonathan. Not had a chance to look through the
VDB examples, but they sound good; VDBs are so powerful.
I find particularly with Houdini there's alway something new to learn or
improve on. It never bloody stops! ;)

I personally have not checked them out yet but I've forwarded your links
to my colleagues. We've switched over to Houdini for a couple
departments and more are considering doing the switch over as well so
every links are welcomed.
