The version of SPDLib you are using is quite old and doesn’t support LAS 1.4.
You need to use the latest version of SPDLib from the bitbucket repository. We
have not got around to providing updated versions via our conda repository yet
as we are in the process of moving to GDAL v

I’m surprised you can import LAS 1.3 files with the version of SPDLib last
built for Windows as this uses libLAS (rather than LASlib) and doesn’t support
LAS 1.3 files.
