For people interested in giving feedback... a new patch got into CVS for
330 support. This patch has been provided by thomson multimedia. No more
-e 1 option is needed, because alternate interface 1 is cool for all
modems (new ones and old ones as well).

I did find 3 files called modem_run, renamed 2 of them, kept the one in /usr/local/bin
original.
Now when I do:
modem_run -v 2 -m -f /usr/share/speedtouch/mgmt.o
IT WORKS !!!
the two bottom lines are:
ADSL Line is UP, downstream at 16777216 kbit/s upstream at 4194304 kbit/s
ADSL link goes U

modem_run should say something about filling some blocks, with -v 2 option
(in the /var/log/messages).
Is your modem recognized (read that in the /proc/bus/usb...) ?

Well, it is certainly not necessary to reinstall your system.
Are you sure that you launch the right modem_run version (not the one
coming with Mandrake 9.0, which is older and does not work with
st330 ?)
You should maybe post here: what you are exactly typping and
what the /var/log/messages s
The -v 2 option does not complain, nor does it do anything good
It just gives the prompt back after 15 seconds.
