Konrad,
thanks for the tip. I'd never tried the reconnecting option, as the machine is
under my desk. It works, and I'm going to be re-configuring my desk and
computers soon anyway, so this is useful.

I've successfully installed speedbundle, and everything works great most of

The output reads:-

if i plug the modem in
it blinks twice fast and then both are green ( this is not how it boots
under xp which is much longer)
What does
cat /proc/net/atm/speed*
give?

I have tried the patch that Lewis sent in that uses the newer microcode and
firmware.
The download appears to complete OK now (thanks Lewis!).
When the download completes the log displays Synchronization Failed.
Can anyone provide any clues as to why I might get synchronisation failure?

I got my speedtouch working years ago on RH 8 or so, and I don't have this
hotplug SysV service, but what I do is rmmod usb-uhci which basically powers
down the whole USB port and then bring it back up with a modprobe.
Pasted is a copy of a script that I run every 10 minutes or so with CRONTAB

The problem is not alignement but child modem_run process. It do not
send a signal to his parent that modem is now sincronized.
A workaround, before developers patch,
