I have a Mk2 Spit which I am restoring. My friend races Triumphs and has
instructed me to do the following to my non rotoflex rear transverse spring to
make the car perform better on the bends:
Remove leaf 3
Turn leaf 4 over so it is working against the others
Has anyone heard of this before?
Does anyone have a rubber overrider for a 75 Spit LH
side (driver side) they would want to sell? I know you
can still get new ones but they are $50 and Ebay had
nothing...
I have a non-factory chrome luggage rack in perfect
shape or a chrome factory 1975 drivers door mirror in
pretty good shape I

Jamie,
I haven't heard about this mod (but I know little of racing), and I'm
not an expert on suspension at all, but my engineers gut instincts are:
Removing leaf 3, or any leaf, will reduce the spring stiffness. This
will result in a softer spring, and a lower ride height.

Hi Jamie,
That will certainly de-arch the spring and give some negative
Clip
He then
asks that I cash the MO at any bank, keep my share and send the rest via
Western Union to an International transporter who will come and
immediately
pick up the car for overseas shipment. He emphasizes that he's trusting me
with his money and that I'll send it on. THIS IS A SCAM!
