Sounds very much like the noise Daffy made a couple of months after I
got her. Banging in time with engine RPM, got MUCH louder with revs.
Car would still run. Cause - a conrod big end failure. By the time I
limped her to TRGB the engine was pretty much toast, so they fitted a
re-con unit for me
If it still runs, the timing chain is probably OK.
You could start the engine with the valve cover off
and listen; maybe that will help locate it.
But most likely you need to pull the oil pan.
Get a couple of cans of Gunk Engine-Brite and a
power washer and clean your engines "nether regions"
