Hello all,
I have a 1975 Spitfire 1500 which I bought in May. I am slowly bringing its
material condition up to speed.
However, I have a bunch of rattles through out the car. I have found some in
and under the bonnet, yet they are some still there.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank
Hi all,
I just received my newly rebuilt, and cleaned up Dual HS4 SU carburetors
from Paltech Micropolishing ( http://paltech1.com/index.html ). I am
getting ready to install them on my 75 1500 Spitfire.
I have visited Paul Teglers site and see the template there. There are no
measurements on
of dashpot oil that Jeff Zorn gave me
at car shows.

Are you talking abou the oil in the carb dashpots?

Hi all,
Well, Columbus had a bit of snow today. So that was my first sign that I
should get the hard top back on my 75 Spitfire 1500.
After my neighbor helped me center it and bolt it down (6 bolts in all), It
does not look right for some reason. Particularly in the front. It looks too
tall.
Hi all,
Last weekend I had to move my 75 Spitfire out of the garage so my sons
Scouts could use the space for a project. When it came time to put her back
in I first took her down the street and around the block, then began backing
into the garage.
Then she just stopped running.
I have
Hi all,
Spring is here and I am getting ready to take the hardtop off my 75
Spitfire.
Last year the top stood up in the garage corner threatening to fall down if
someone looked at it wrong. This year I want to suspend it from the garage
overhead beams.
There is a company called Harken, they
Hi all,
I am looking at a possible summer trip to see a friend south of St. Louis,
Missouri. Are there any planned British car shows this summer in that
region?
Thanks

Hi All,
I replaced a CD150 Stromberg (with manual choke) for a set of HS4s
carburetors. I have managed to get the cable connected, but it seems to take
pulling it out all the way to keep the car running (between 1500 2000
rpm).
Is there a difference between the Stromberg and HS4 choke
Hi All,
I recently installed some HS4 carburetors on my 75 Spit. I still am trying
to tweak the RPM/Choke into the right zone and I think I almost have it
adjusted. Initially, when they were installed, they would only start and
idle at 1500 to 2000 rpm, full choke on. Now it they run there
James,
I bought a header from Ted for my 75 Spitfire 1500 when I converted to dual
SU's. The other stainless steel headers Considering Rimmer Bros. was about
$300 (plus shipping) and Spitbits was $400 (plus all that other stuff) I
went with Ted.
When I installed them, I was told I should have
bowls. I understand the ceramic coating will
radiate less heat.

As a pre-Christmas treat we took my son to see Alvin and the Chipmunks.
And to my amazement, there is a Triumph TR4 (maybe a TR250).
Happy Holidays everyone.
