If/when an applicable standard such as NFPA 86 tells you that no fire
sprinklers are required within the oven, no sprinklers are required within and
no "compensation" in the overhead is required unless it states so.
You look at the overall area and the hazards present and then make the decision
Whenever I have something in front of me, from the ones ultimately responsible,
I dare not venture past that due to it then becoming my (your) problem.
I understand the concern, but we do not want to expose our neck either by
superseding what could be deemed the criteria from the AHJ..
