If LW pipe was used, check the weld seam of the pipe in the area of the
groove gasket seat, this area has been known to split the pipe at the weld
seam during the roll grooving process. That split can grow over time.

The groove spec is an ANSI/AWWA C-606 standard. It is probably on
Victaulic's and others websites although I haven't looked. What size are
you looking at. I have the catalog that has all the dimensions. Depth
ranges from .063 for 2-inch to .109 for 12-inch.
