but would branch lines need to be braced as well? the potential swaying motion in a move i would think would be greater than motion due to earthquakes Todd G Williams, PE Fire Protection Design/Consulting Stonington, CT www.fpdc.com On May 25, 2013, at 11:46 PM, Ron Greenman

If done to West Coast seismic requirements the branch lines would be restrained, the ends having a secondary, lateral brace (rod with an end line loop hanger or the rod run down to the pipe, at an angle to restrain lateral movement). Our stuff moves in all directions with the building movement, no

All good ideas, and per 25 if the inspection that should be done with the system down and disconnected suggests back-flushing is a good idea then there would be your authority. If you don't do underground then you need an underground guy. If I recall properly, you're in NE Oregon up by The Dalles

In addition to those, my concern would be that if the pipe is suspended from the structure, it will probably sway back and forth during the move and could possibly damage heads or pipe. Todd G Williams, PE Fire Protection Design/Consulting Stonington, CT www.fpdc.com On May 25, 2013, at 12:54

Whether or not the system would sway during moving would be dependent on how it's currently installed. If in earthquake country it wouldn't sway since it would be braced against seismic events. Pre-fabs are designed to be moved so swaying is minimized by sway bracing or hung in such a way as to
