diesel exhaust insulation

2018-10-18 Thread Matt Grise
We are getting ready to insulate the exhaust pipes for a diesel motor pump. Is there a particular style or type of insulation that works better than others? Thanks! Matt ___ Sprinklerforum mailing list Sprinklerforum@lists.firesprinkler.org

I know, enclosing these stairs creates a problem. But Todd, you think if a building has exterior, non-combustible stairs (such as say a fire exit), then it should be sprinklered? I haven't thought of it as that way, that is why I'm asking. Tony On Thu, Oct 18, 2018 at 7:39 AM Fpdcdesign wrote:

The FPE kissed the pooch. The 2x6’s drive the boat so it’s combustible obstructed construction with members < 3 ft OC. Now if you put some insulation in the channels whereby the depth of the exposed member is less than 4 inches, then you get to merrily embrace the 225 sf As. Roland Roland

You would still only sprinkler at the top of the stairs and the lowest landing if it’s not combustible. My concern would be if it required a standpipe. Cliff Whitfield, SET President Fire Design, Inc. 184 Comfort Place Burnsville, NC 28714 Ph: 828-284-4772

I have a project with 24" deep bar joist at 8' on center. Spanning the joist are 2x6 stringers at 24" on center. I was under the impression that something like this would limit us to 130 sq ft per sprinkler. The FPE that spec'd out the project has indicated 225 sq ft max in this area. What

The interstitial sprinklers have a maximum sq. ft. per the product data. For example the Tyco CC3 5.6k interstitial has a maximum sq. ft. of 256 sq. ft. In the hydraulic calculations do you have to use 256 or can you use the actual sq. ft. that the sprinkler is covering, say a 12 X 14 you would
