TBH: I've been wondering about this before. When I look at my server's
log files I often see the same IP download a plugin file two or three
times. It's not always the case, but often.
I'll take a note to investigate this. Feel free to investigate, too. I'm
running out of time.

Shut down LMS and remove the library.db from its cache folder.

I thought perhaps import two different music folders into LMS, and there
may be some way to have an informational of which folder the files are
being served from, but I can't see any way to do this.
You can "Browse Musicfolder". Just pick the Preview one if you want some
of those tracks.

- Open all playlists in that

Is it possible that the file paths for the tracks in the m3u playlists
has changed with the hardware change. You can check by opening one of
the files with a text editor. You can probably do some kind of find and
replace to modify the paths to the correct source.

We're crossing post - it's getting crazy.
I know your not using Windows but NAS devices can be "odd" .
30M files downloaded for me in 4 secs - it is 300mbit/.sec connection so
even at 60mbits it would be 40 sec - your LMS log shows download took
about 1m50sec.
Wait until tomorrow - I'll try

ISP is 60Mbit/s. It's just downloading from sourceforge that's slow.

The file download is done with a HTTP GET - so the GET will either
succeed with a 20x code or fail. If there is a 20x code and downloaded
file is OK then SHA will be checked. No specific timeout on download -
so general LMS Settings Radio Stations timeout will be used (often about
15 secs) .
Actually if the above interface supported arbitary metatags, I could add
a custom metatag (say LIBRARY_VIEW) on import (via Musicbrainz) which
wrote that metatag if the file was being sent to the Preview directory.
COMMENT seems a possible candidate since the documentation says it is an
option,

Another thing I noticed. I'm on LMS' startpage in the WebUI. On the
bottom it says "Plugins have been updated - Restart Required (AirPlay

Of course. But is there a check to wait for the download to complete
before doing the SHA checksum check?

I had problems installing / upgrading Phillipe's RAOP plugin:

That's really cool, I'd not seen that feature before.
This seems to apply a filter, as in I can play from the main folder or
the previewing folder, which will be useful.
But I'm looking more for the facility to play from all files but have an
informational showing say in which library view it

If you are willing for have to do a few extra clicks when selecting
tracks ... then you could set up a Library View for the "preview" ones.
Search / Advanced Search / Path ...
then save as a Library View
Then switch to that Library View when you want to select from it ... and
switch back to
I have two types of audio file on my music store :
- Stuff I want to keep
- Stuff I'm previewing and may want to keep or may discard
So process would be, here's some music that sounds ok, I stick it in my
previewing folder, then if it's a keeper it's moved to the proper music
folder.
Nuked the LMS install, reinstalled all now sorted.

I remember that when I was using LMS 7.7.6 and 7.7.7 on Windows,
"phantom" players appeared in the client list of the Client Cleanup
plugin. These phantom players had a MAC address, but no name. If I
remember correctly (not 100% sure) these phantom players

On a refresh it comes back, so it's blank as per the first image as
though it's found an empty string player, I have to select the player I

My Boom has been playing up a bit, I think it may be on it's way out and
this could be to do with that player somehow.
