Thanks for your help, but I am afraid that you over-estimate my
knowledge.
I'm not estimating your knowledge at all. I'm only trying to give you an
answer to your question :-). But as I've reverted the removal of support
for your Perl version that's a moot discussion anyway, isn't it?
Oh, I have IO::Socket::SSL: 2.037, openSSL I don't know what it is, is

Just to close this one out, I downloaded
logitechmediaserver-8.3.0-0.1.1641914771.noarch.rpm from the nightly
server and installed today with no issues. It works fine with Fedora 35
and perl 5.34. Thanks!!

Thanks, @mherger. I realize that the ReadyNAS platform is dated and as
good as EOL. I'll probably be moving LMS to a Pi instance in the next
year or so. I've been dragging my feet because running it on the
ReadyNAS has been my ideal use case; the Pi will allow me to be more up

On the other hand, according to https://ubuntu.com/about/release-cycle

Oh, I should have checked. I knew it was LTS, but I didn't know this
would last _that_ long :-).

Hi Digimaster...
I tried upgrading QLMS to latest version, but it seems the scripts are
not compatible with my unit...
I used to run previous version, I got a lot of errors of bad command
during launch bad then it run fine.
I upgraded from the AppCenter...

I am working on updating my OS, it is work in progress. At this moment I
can dual boot between Lubuntu 16.04 and Linux Mint 20.3 XFCE. But
Thanks for sharing. Currently, I'm only using the SoundCloud Is Gold
plugin. It's a handy plugin for working with audio hosted on the
SoundCloud service. Also, I talked on another thread at

Oh well... from what Google brought up it must be Perl 5.20. I reverted
last night's change. New build should be out soon.

Would you know what Perl version the NAS is using? I did remove support
for Perl v5.20 and older

=> Was it a deliberate choice to remove support for Perl 5.22 in the
latest LMS 8.3.0 nightly build?
Yes. I thought it was time to cut some slack. I didn't expect 5+ years
old Linux versions still to be actively used...
Will that also be the case in the next releases? This would probably
Hello all. This is a rather long post. Therefore I have highlighted my
main observations and questions in *bold* text.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read (the highlights of) this
post.
