I'm not sure the OP is really taking the time to understand and try the
advice he is given. Regardless, I read back through and @Gordonb3's post
#19, second paragraph, could possibly be what is going on, why the OP
feels files are missing, needed files are being removed.

There are NO missing files in 8.2.0 I have installed LMS 8.* from
scratch never having a 7.* on

Nobody else seems to be having a problem installing 8.2. That's why Robb
asked his question and I asked, where are you getting 8.2 from? Can we
start there?

I like the concept of putting this into favourites as it works for both:
albums on local drive and albums from Online Music Libraries.
And it works well (with drag) in standard UI on browser - still the
UI I am using most beside Squeeze Ctrl on Android.

You could make a "Library View" that just shows albums in a specific
folder.
As a test I created a folder named "Top100" and moved 3 albums into this
folder.
Clear library and rescan.
Using Advanced Search create a Library View with the criteria "Path
contains" - Top100.
Under Home > Library
