Not yet, this is the first alternative to iPeng I've tried.
I've had iPeng running for a while, originally
Getting back to your original query, have you tried any of the free
native Android apps such as Squeezer, Squeeze Ctrl and, the new kid on
the block, Open Squeeze? All are very capable and each has its own
unique features, such as Squeeze Ctrl's ability to cast the artwork and
other track info

Only speculating - but easy to check ... right click on task bar and run
Task Manager and look at Processes and Services.
It is a long long time since I ran LMS on Windows so I don't remember
which one it will be under ... or even

It must have been, for I got the IP address from one of the settings
screens within the program while it was running. Unless I should be
getting the IP address from somewhere else? If so, where?
Also - are you sure that LMS is running at all on that Windows PC?
Perhaps it exited on startup.
Can you see it in Task Manager as a running service?

It does, but when running in this state, the Diagnostics tab shows an

Fails to access web control with "http://LMS IP:9000" in

First hurdle;
I open LMS web control in Chrome, with LMS IP:9000 - I then access
Settings at lower right, and I have menu tabs - Basic Settings, Player,
My Music, etc. and - Plugins.
Select Plugins,

That is my exact process on my Google Pixel.

Yup. A bit of traipsing up and down stairs with it, but it's
manageable.
Thanks all.
Will report back with either a success story,

I see what you're saying. I think that is true. LMS can be self-contained
(local host or network only) and it runs fine. But adding Plugins will
require an internet connection if they're not part of the "standard" set.
Is the Material Skin being considered as part of the Standard Set (default

Yes. It's basically a website that is created and run by LMS. It can be
opened using localhost, or, as I do, on my local router network
192.168.1.X. No need for an external network connection. But you are right,
that functions that require network access cannot work - no streaming, no

Just had a thought, will Material still work if not connected to the
internet? How can one install plugins?
Anyway, the Music and Artist Information plugin certainly won't work.

I use the Material skin of the web client. It's the only controller I now
use for desktop or Android OS devices. It's fully functional and is IMO
very well designed with both light and dark modes. It recognizes small
screens versus "regular" web browsers on a desktop reconfiguring its UI

I have an SBT, connected via a standard home router, via Ethernet, to a
Windows 10 PC which holds my Music Library.
A long time ago, I downloaded iPeng to my iPad of the time, and for a
while, this was fine, but a bit flakey.
The only purpose the router serves is to connect the SBT to
