With cache mode no further problems. Persistant mode works nice mostly,
but track loops from time to time.
The good thing is that I can set squezzelite settings to standard with
this solution.

b) a second RPI is holding squeezelite, only - with LMS deactivated.
My understanding is that LMS is not buffering any LMS data. LMS is just
"organizing" that Quboz is streaming a certain track to the second RPI's
IP address.
