It's just a library view created using advanced search. Now that I know
the reason why it fails, it doesn't bother me.
I'll still add an item to my to do list. I believe this should be improved.

Oh, right: a library must set a flag if it wants to be re-built on every
update. As this can be a costly process, this is optional. Most likely
your library definition doesn't use this feature.
Where is this feature?

Where is this
This seems to be *Library view* related.
Oh, right: a library must set a flag if it wants to be re-built on every

This seems to be *Library view* related.
If I select the library view "*Squeezebox Music*" (this is the folder

12 months have elapsed since I started this post, still seeing the same
scenario - Playing a newly ripped/added album and playing it via BMF
does make it available via New Music, Artist or Album lists. A "new &
changed" scan makes it available, although it doesn't show the tracks in
the scan

I just added a new album and BMF didn't add it to the library so why did
my dsf file get added?

Ok. In 8.0 it's now installed by default, whether you use it or not. But
if you say it's not installed, it's not installed. ;)
This is how it looks on my end:

Browsing to the album in Music Folder might not add the album to the
library but the new and changed scan I performed

I NEVER had any rescan plugins installed and played albums were added.
Cannot test it right now with 8.0, I'd need to rip a new album first.
