Solved This seems to be *Library view* related. If I select the library view "*Squeezebox Music*" (this is the folder where I added the newly ripped album), then the album doesn't appear under new music. If I change the library view to use "*All Library*", then the album appears under new

12 months have elapsed since I started this post, still seeing the same scenario - Playing a newly ripped/added album and playing it via BMF does make it available via New Music, Artist or Album lists. A "new & changed" scan makes it available, although it doesn't show the tracks in the scan
