Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on different OS Platforms
Yes a headless Linux system will work much better then a Windows or OSX box. That is one of the reasons I created VortexBox. I greatly increases performance for users particularly users with large collections. rip, tag, get cover art All you do is insert the CD! http://vortexbox.org agillis Lead Developer VortexBox agillis's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105405 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Well i would say - a small powered (and also small power consumption) device always runs better on a small OS. A dedicated System always respond faster than a "desktop" System cause all the RAM & CPU are for OS & LMS. My Server is that old it only allows me Windows XP (forget that asap) or a Linux - Windows 7/8/10 would not run on it. Under tux it runs quite fine. If you want to run a headless system the os must not have some graphical gimmics and these gimmicks need power. If you add more ram to some computer to run a "big" OS like *blows you need more power out of the Wall. That fact most people always forget. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on different OS Platforms
I don't think "performance" (you could describe what you want to achieve) has much to do with the OS. It does have to do with the platform, but since the server is on the network, bandwidth equalizes much differences. If your mind is not set, I would suggest to go with the largest (or fastest growing) user group. I have a vague idea this could mean Raspberry Pi+Linux. 4 SB 3 Libratone Zipp Mini iPeng (iPhone + iPad) Squeezebox Server 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105405 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Lately problems when playing playlist when alarm goes off
Hi Pinkdot/Martin. I already tried that. The stupid thing is that I can play local playlists and Spotify playlists manually without any problem. But when I want to play a list when the alarm goes off than the BackupAlarm buzzer sound by my music system.
