My streaming music services (Pandora, Spotify) stop for no apparent
reason.

Thanks for all the feedback - some really useful stuff. I've changed the
cache size setting as recommended. I've also spent a couple of hours
investigating the Squeezebox CLI, and have worked out how to run a
telnet/VBS job on a regular schedule to do an LMS search. I've had it
running every 15 mi

Aargh stupid me...I'm running Domoticz indeed. Forgot all about the
connection to my Sqeeuzebox devices. Domoticz is indeed polling the
status ervery 30s.

In addition to what has been said: check out the USB drive's
manufacturer web site for some control/utilities software that might
allow to set the sleep mode.
