2018-03-15 Thread QDon

The problem is that I can install Q'center and launch it but it will not
connect to itself or another QNAP. I haven't tried uninstalling yet but
I will shortly.

I emailed qnap asking for more info and this is their reply.

-*QlogitechMedia server is a side loaded application on the QNAP. We do
not recommend installing these applications because they are not tested
for compatibility issues with our O/S. If the maintainer wishes to
submit the application to publish through our app center there are
channels they would have to go through before it can be distributed
through our official app center. That of course is entirely up to
creator/maintainer of the 3rd party qpkg if they would like to do so to
remove any incompatibilities with our O/S.* -

I will let you know the results.

Regarding "corrupt" files ... according to that thread some of the tools
and a self-promoting tag to the newly generated file - so not really
corrupting and you could remove the tag with other tools (or try one of
the other tools in that thread that do not appear to add stuff).

I had to write some scripts to load id3 tag data and rewrite it back as
vorbis tags. One or two older taggers defaulted to id3, I don't use
those now.

Michael, I am guilty of additional clarification to You and others, see
updated img. So I think that only:

"Your to-do list:
- implement https on LMS" is necessary. Rest stays untouched - ok maybe
CLI could be also secured...

in sum:

Exact resampling can be setup in varius ways trough SoX diffrent
filterslopes and actually some margins added can change the volume.

But the typical disable native flac in lms does nothng that advanced .

Then there is RG tags they disapear , so if the player supports
replaygain like the Touch do volume diff can be huge WAV being louder .
But you can also disable the whole RG funktion in LMS with a setting .

But it is bizzare that smenflac files wont play.

I would flac encode them again using aproved flac tools to level -5 and
have a look at the tags.
There was some tools the past that produced very odd flac files with
compressionratios beyound -8 this os not well supported .

What are OP using to rip these files ?

Regarding tags only keep the vorbis comments id3v tags should not be in
flac files .

IF OP is doing sigthed tests then there is the usual human perceptual
errors and biases involved( that we cant escape none of us ).
So it’s only telling us about the personal experience in that moment not
whats relly is going on.

Curiuos what the trouble with Qcenter is.
So could you tell me what the problem is.

What you could do, is backup the Cache en prefs directory from inside
the .qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/SlimServer directory to a safe place.
And then follow there instructions, so see if it helps to solve the
problem.

But i don'' t think it will solve it.
The only thing which could be a conflict, is if the use poort 9001.

So keep me posted.
