Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins
Do you mean the Vortexbox network settings? I have the Vortexbox network settings set for "Static IP address". I have reserved an IP address in my router for the VB MAC address. The IP address in the VB settings is correct, the subnet mask is the same as the router, the gateway is the same as the router. The 3 DNS addresses in my VB settings are not the same as the 3 Static DNS addresses set in my router. Is that an issue? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS via NAS326 - modify the LMS web UI
All, How difficult would it be to modify the LMS web UI? My only desire is to put the "All Albums" listing one sees at the *bottom* of the Genres view to the *top* of the Genres view. Obviously code exists to create that entry for the Genre view or it would not be there. And there is likely code that sorts that listing and then adds the "All Albums" listing at the bottom. Might any of you know where this would be? Figure no one can say "no" if I don't ask. Since it's highly unlikely that the NAS326 devs are ever going to provide an upgrade to the LMS that comes with it and my doing so is highly problematic (would likely need a new version of Perl, etc.), I cannot use (without creating an entirely separate LMS server) a new version of LMS, so I'm stuck with modifying the version that comes with LMS. I'm not complaining, btw, because it works quite well thus far. gstalnaker's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63504 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109727 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Blocking explicit tracks
It's possible to achieve this with Custom Scan and Custom Browse. But I, too, hope that someday there will be some more tags natively supported. I got part-way but failed for a while to get the syntax right to drive the device I need. I finally got it working as a test, and made the alsa device available system wide in /etc/asound.conf. I then tried it from the localplayer (squeezelite) plugin device on my server and it resolutely failed to run, getting timeouts (I think, error -16). So I tried running squeezelite as a service. That didn't work either. Running squeezelite as a normal stand-alone user did work, so eventually I gave in and ran the squeezelite service as my normal user, and that seems to work. Why it won't run as squeezeboxserver, or as a service at startup for an unspecified user (presumably root) I don't know. Anyway, I'm up and running, so will do some tests of the equalizer. Hi, remember you can only build filter based on tags which lms supports in its database. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Blocking explicit tracks
Following on from the recent addition to Spotty to allow songs flagged as explicit by Spotify I wondered if this could be done more generally in LMS. A comment from Michael implied to me that using the 7.9 multi library support would be the way to do it. My thought was to use the non-standard, but used by Apple iTunes, ID3 tag of "ITUNESADVISORY" as the filter. i.e. player(s) could be limited to songs from the library that do not have this attribute (or potentially others ones as well, or even by artist names or album titles ...). Is this the way to do it? FYI re iTunes https://www.maketecheasier.com/add-explicit-clean-tags-itunes/ More generic would also allow blocking by radio station name or even automatic muting when streaming certain stuff. I do not have a real need for this myself but wondering if it could be useful for those with young kids in the house. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Random Albums
Just wondering how random the "Random Albums" feature is. I have seven albums by "I Am Kloot" and three of them appeared in my Random Albums list with two of them being the first two in the list. As long as we've had "random whatever" around, people have considered it not random enough... though all these features are using different implementations of randomization: some use Perl's, some the database's random function. Randomness is difficult - to implement as well as understand. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
