I hope somebody who knows enough about this to provide a definite answer will do so. Until that time, I suggest that there may be no such process. The plugin is very old and it appears that there has been no further development of it for many years. As you have seen, the squeezelite binary is actively maintained and updated frequently. But I think it's up to the user to keep it up to date, whether you use the Local Player plugin or not. Note: I have absolutely no experience with the plugin. What I'm saying here is based on what I've read in the past, and there's always a chance that I'm remembering incorrectly. Again, I'm hoping that someone with actual knowledge will chime in. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] problems scanning libraries after new install of LMS 8.3
After about 6 months of having removed LMS (7.9x) for various reasons, I have just installed the newest version on a fairly newly provisioned Ubuntu 20.04.3 server. [ I installed logitechmediaserver_8.3.0~1636104857_amd64.deb from 'nightlies' (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/) ] It generally seems to work fine with "SLIMUSER=squeezeboxserver" System user "squeezeboxserver" was initially set to "nogroup" (I don't recall if this is the "normal" state of affairs for LMS installs) but I have assigned it to the group "users." -REGARDLESS, THIS INSTALL OF LMS CAN NEITHER SCAN THE MUSIC LIBRARY WHICH IS (RECURSIVELY) OWNED BY ME:USERS WITH PERMISSIONS SET TO 0754 NOR THE PLAYLIST FOLDER WHICH IS (RECURSIVELY) OWNED BY ME:USERS WITH PERMISSIONS SET TO 0774- Other users on the network can see the contents of the music library and can NOT write to the folders which is the desired behavior. Ideally LMS can not write to the libraries but CAN write to the playlists folder. As a test: - I chmod-ed a music subdirectory and all its files to 0774 and LMS can ALSO not scan that folder. - I chmod-ed a music subdirectory and all its files to 0777 and LMS can ALSO not scan that folder. Is it possible these problems are limited to the 8.3 nightly branch? Any insights would be appreciated. Also, to help me troubleshoot this, I don't seem to recall where I can find a document which clearly describes the permissions required by the LMS user (among other setup parameters)? Thanks in advance! - I help administer various Squeezeboxes (mostly Classic / SB3 and Touch) typically running against LMS 7.9x on LinuxMint 20.x or Ubuntu 20.04.x fbachofner's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115426 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Playback stops when starting up new player or app
I've been reminded of something that can cause playback to stop and move to the end of the current playlist: network issues. If LMS can't communicate with the players and/or the music source, that seems to be what happens. I have no idea how or if that might relate to what you are experiencing. It doesn't seem likely that just starting one player would disconnect the others. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Mostly virtual players, occasionally with SB Radio, Boom or Classic. Hoping this helps and does not confuse :) In Buster and Bullseye it is at Code: sudo nano /etc/default/logitechmediaserver 36160 Or it could / might be this, in the LMS Settings 36161 ronnie +---+ |Filename: signoutmysqueezebox.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36161| +---+ Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113430 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Tidal hi-res through LMS 8.0 - bitrate limited to 44.1?
LMA is running on a Raspberry PI 3B+ with the OS from Raspberry ( a few days bak updatet) and with the original LMS 8.2.1 armdeb from the Download. This RPI is only for this task. Did somebody set this up for you? Because disabling MySB integration is a manual step in your case, and it requires editing some configuration files. But I wouldn't even know which one of yours it is... I'd recommend you run the following command on the Pi to search the /etc folder: sudo fgrep -ri nomysqueezebox /etc ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Tidal hi-res through LMS 8.0 - bitrate limited to 44.1?
How to change this mission figuration? I must assume you're using piCorePlayer to run LMS? There's a "No MySB" option. Make sure it's not enabled. If that's not the case then you should probably tell us more about your installation, operating system etc. ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
