Sounds like a DNS timeout. Possibly the updated module (Net::DNS -
libnet-dns-perl) is more strict about some misconfiguration on your
machine.

I deleted LMS from my DS218Play and then planned to install a newer
version to resolve stuttering when playing Qobuz hi-res music.
Having uninstalled LMS I now find I cannot re-install it without
downloading Docker software which I unable to do from the Synology
download page.

I think you should have installed the 64 bit version of LMS
logitechmediaserver_8.2.1~1641537226_amd64.deb
The modules you installed all show "amd64" which is 64 bit.
I think recent version of Ubuntu no longer have the 32bit compatibility
library which you may have been using if you ran 32 bit
