I set up LMS on a homebuilt TrueNAS Core system jail last night. It took about 20 minutes to set up. The LMS app is available from a (long )list of community supported stuff. The jail is a FreeBSD VM, so it runs completely separate from the NAS, though you can use storage on the NAS ( music, etc
