But it is, I think, an “unintended” result. Perhaps LMS’ logrotate configuration might be modified so as not to rotate the scanner log. AFAIK LMS doesn't provide a logrotate configuration. I do not prefer one change with the new LMS setup. When I explore my local disc collection under Music Folder, there is an additional level with the names: Library, Pictures, and Videos. I am not sure if this change is due to the new version of LMS, or due to changing from Win7 to Win10. Please check your music folder settings. Make sure it really is pointing at your music folder only. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMs folder navigation
All, I have been running Logitech Media Server under all of its names for many years. Recently, the Win7 computer running LMS died. I think the version was 7.9 or later. I have now installed version 8.2.1 on a Win10 computer. It runs fine. I do not prefer one change with the new LMS setup. When I explore my local disc collection under Music Folder, there is an additional level with the names: Library, Pictures, and Videos. I am not sure if this change is due to the new version of LMS, or due to changing from Win7 to Win10. Is there a method for removing this extra layer of navigation? FYI, I am blind and use the light menu skin. I have always preferred navigating my music using folder Hierarchy FOR genres rather than using tags embedded in the files. What it almost certainly shows is that, on a number of days, your scanner logs exceeded 200k in size. And that logrotate duly rotated them as instructed, but before the next time the background scanner ran. LMS erases the scanner log each time it starts a background scan, and has done for for more years than I have fingers. But if it has already been rotated, then there is nothing to erase ! Perhaps you had set some unusually verbose logging options for the period in question. But it is, I think, an unintended result. Perhaps LMS logrotate configuration might be modified so as not to rotate the scanner log. Refer to the installed configuration file in /etc/logrotate.d. This is just a matter of my own curiosity, trying to understand how things work. It is not a criticism or complaint! currently running 8.3 (8.2 in April 2021) on Raspberry Pi OS. The player I use most is a Raspberry Pi running pCP 8.1.0 or 8.2.0 at different times, but I also have encountered the problem with my SB3. Before this problem showed up, I would start Random Mix (album), it would add an album to the playlist, and when it started playing the last track of the album, another album would be added to the bottom of the playlist. Now (when the problem occurs), nothing is added to the playlist at any point. The last track plays, and then the player stops. This morning I somehow got it into a "working" mode, after turning on debug-level logging for player.playlist and plugin.randomplay. The version of Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 0.7.20180404git1522249619 @ Mon May 14 10:51:59 EDT 2018. LMS is set to look for updates, but it obviously hasn't updated in a long time. I logged into the Vortex Box and LMS via my iPhone just now, and I see the same thing as I do on my Mac: the lefthand pane is blank.
