Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] What are the rules for LMS for merging albums from different subdirectories?
One more point I remember: some of the track-level tags are important too, e.g. if you have a track with a different artist, that can mess up the merging, too. I've had that with some bonus tracks that have artist "blah feat. blah2" etc. If all else fails, post the two sets of tags here, and someone should be able to spot the culprit. cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111326 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] What are the rules for LMS for merging albums from different subdirectories?
I rip to FLAC+CUE, and split multi-CD albums into separate directories, one per CD, and I want LMS to merge them into a single album, which it does most of the time. When it doesn't it's generally because something is different about one of the CDs tags. i.e. LMS will merge them as long as the main elements are the same. Recently, I've had Volumes of a large series that has around 10 CDs per volume. Sometimes LMS will show me two albums, one with 9 CDs and a similar one with only 1 CD. On closer examination of the tags I can generally find the thing in that single CD's tag that is stopping it being merged with the others, and change it. I also use DISCNUMBER & DISCTOTAL/TOTALDISCS tags Not sure if any of the above helps :) cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111326 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

thank you Michael! For some time I've been unable to connect at all; with this fix, I could connect, but was then getting repo timeouts in the logs Updating my Debian (unstable) SSL pkgs (openssl, python-openssl, python3-openssl) seems to have cured that too. Marvellous! thanks again. My Linux LMS server gets its music files via NFS from another server, read-only so it can't possible write to it. As long as Emby doesn't put anything in the media dirs that upsets LMS, I would expect it to be fine. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] RFE: show player power state at-a-glance for all players
Please consider this RFE for the web front-end. I'm often turning players on by accident, e.g. via remote, app, etc, or wondering whether I remember to turn off the one in the bedroom. I would love to see an "at a glance" view of -all- players and whether they are currently powered on/off. In the current web front-end, clicking on the player gives a drop-down with all players, and if you hover over them you see their power status. But I can't see all players' power status at once. With more players, this becomes worse; I already have 5, but now it's so easy (e.g. rPi) am likely to add more. [I'd also note that On and Off are quite hard to differentiate in this view] If the view could show the power state permanently, of all players, that would be very handy. For added value, showing whether (and what) a player is playing would be nice - could be a pop-up. Or an expanded optional view, etc. thanks much indeed. cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105097 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Yup, agreed that "stable" is not a solution. I've run "unstable" for over 15 years now, on my main desktop, and internet-facing server, and very rarely had a problem that wasn't quickly sorted. and I get far less issues than friends running the latest stable Ubuntu, etc. Debian stable is just way too out of date for me. I wasn't aware that the 5.22 issue, which has just broken LMS for me too, had a quick solution, other than entirely building your own, which I was going to try next.
