Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Radio and Touch not connecting to LMS
Interesting, one of my two Touchs has the same issue, all other (Radio, one Touch and some Yamaha via Airplay) connect perfectly fine. Happened in 8.3164716 but also in a version 4 weeks older than that. Thought my daughter wrecked the thing... heiko_squeeze's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70881 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115781 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Radio and Touch not connecting to LMS
As a followup, is there a way to change the 9090 port to something else? I can't see a reference to it in the config file. LMS Settings/Advanced/CLI. You'll then have to adjust the mapping to the container, too, of course. But I'm not sure many of the clients using the CLI would allow to adjust the port on their end. ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Radio and Touch not connecting to LMS
OK I have narrowed this down to a problem with the docker container on my CentOS server. I've been using the docker image as per https://hub.docker.com/r/lmscommunity/logitechmediaserver but somehow a recent update either in my server or the image must have broken something that was working before. A few issues: - CentOS runs the "cockpit" server administration interface on 9090 by default - In CentOS /etc/timezone is a folder that has no content by default Both of these are an issue for the LMS container. I don't know why they never caused problems before, and still don't on the Boom, but I think this is the source of the issues. I've stopped cockpit temporarily and added a script in the custom-init.sh file to set timezone properly (ref https://serverfault.com/questions/683605/docker-container-time-timezone-will-not-reflect-changes). So now LMS is running, the timezone is correct, and all the required ports are open. So when I try to connect using "my music" I now get two different responses from the Squeezeboxes: - The Radio just gives the same error as before - basically "I can't find any LMS instances on the network" - The Touch immediately tries to connect to the LMS, but goes to a failed to connect page. But the LMS web interface reports reports it as connected and allows me to choose music etc. Nothing actually plays on the Touch when I choose it. I have discovered a workaround for both of these problems, by manually adding the library in Settings > Advanced > Networking > Add Library. I manually add the local server IP address (192.168.1.50) and it then connects ok. Everything seems to be working from here. I don't know why the players don't automatically connect to the LMS but now that they are connected I guess this is ok. I'll wait to see if the Radio asks to update to the new community firmware. liquefry's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62028 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115781 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Yeah I understand that. The Radio was running community firmware but it wasn't connecting to LMS so I restored it to the old to see if it would give me that helpful message. Now I can't upgrade the Radio because it can't connect to the LMS. The only thing I get in "My Music" is a message that says "To enable My Music, download the Logitech Media Server software from www.mysqueezebox.com and make sure it is installed and running on a computer on the network". To be clear, the Radio, Touch and Boom were all connected to the LMS running on a home server here a couple of weeks ago. Now only the Boom is connected - both the Touch and the Radio give that error. Is there a way to force it to scan again, and a log that I can set to debug to see what's not working? I'm going to try installing the default LMS from source and see if that helps. liquefry's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62028 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115781 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Radio and Touch not connecting to LMS
I think that the Radio with "old" firmware will not connect to LMS 8 until LMS 8.3 when a patch was made. However, I think in that situation (where it spots LMS with a version number that it thinks is too high) the Radio would give a useful message on the screen. Can you try to force it by going to "My Music" and telling it to use your LMS (does it show more than one)? Does anyone have an idea of how to troubleshoot/fix this? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Radio and Touch not connecting to LMS
Had a weird problem starting from a week or so ago. I've got three squeezeboxes, a boom, touch and radio. Both the touch and radio have both lost contact with my LMS installation for some reason. They are still connected to mysqueezebox.com and can play internet radio stuff through that. LMS: was on latest stable build 8.2.1, now v8.2.0 1627922070. Also tried 8.3.0 - 1642339975. All installed using the LMS community docker image. Radio firmware: was on something like 8.1.2-r16855 (not the latest), now 7.7.3-r16676. Not able to connect with either Touch firmware: 7.8.0 r16754 Boom firmware: 57 They are all on the same subnet (192.168.1.*), and all have a strong wifi connection I've tried a few things to fix this: - rebooting the router - updating firmware and network software on the router (Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro) - reinstalling LMS - clearing the LMS cache/config and reinstalling from scratch - reverting to official firmware on the radio - updating all the software packages on the computer running LMS (it's a centos stream box) None of these seemed to help. And unfortunately the fresh reinstall of the LMS means I lost the old logs. But they didn't contain any errors. I think this happened in one of the steps I was trying to update the radio firmware to a later version. I no longer have the error logs (since reinstalling the whole thing) but the radio said it wanted to update to a later community firmware version so I selected it as usual. The firmware downloaded to the radio and it tried to install but then it rebooted and came back with the same firmware as before with no errors in the LMS, and asked to update again. I did this a few times and put the logging to debug but couldn't find anything in the logs - all it said was that it needed updating and that the "baby" firmware version downloaded by LMS was the latest. The radio and touch both lost contact after one of the things I tried to fix this - I think either when I updated LMS to a later version, or when I updated the network software on my router. Not 100% sure of which caused the problem. I'm still trying a few things to connect the devices but any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this would be great! liquefry's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62028 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115781 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
