Hey Ronnie,

Hi Jim

Although there is no real requirement to wipe a sd card before making a
new image, I have often used this program

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/

which includes the "overwrite" format.

It's a tad anal I know :o, but peace of mind is important :), and I only
use it infrequently :rolleyes::):p

Are your Daff 's out yet ?

Thanks for the clarification. I don't have an answer for you, maybe
Ronnie does, he's a wizard :)

But, as a test, since the regular flac streams are affected, why not
create favorites to play the streams directly (from the link I gave
you). This will at least tell you if it's related to the plugin, or RP's
interface to the plugin (if that is different)

I do realize how frustrating "occasionally for no reason" issues can
be...:)

Jim

PS - as a bonus, since you like RP, check out "Jukebox Radio 2" out of
Toronto, Ont. Similar mix (I like it better), no commercials, no talk,
FLAC. You can stream it directly, but I use Paul Webster's "Radio Now
Playing" plugin that adds the song info and album art to the FLAC
streams. When I say that I like it better, its allot more like what RP
used to be before they migrated to being heavy in allot of newer and
world artists (I don't dislike, just prefer the older).

"network waiting" :-

under Wifi Settings

37565

Or try these;

A hard reset, with no player being used, pull the power plug of the LMS
raspberry pi at the wall socket, wait a minute, and then power on.

Check that the LMS still has the same IP Address

Wipe the SD card, download a fresh image of pCP and install a new LMS,
reconfigure the server.

This may change the IP Address

The Pi is on a cabled ethernet connection.

No hard drive or USB drive connected to the Pi, only a network share to
the NAS which works fine with all file types.

The issue happened to me a few times last week, before that everything
worked fine for months.

I will test different RP stream types and save the pCP and LMS boot
logs.

Please tell me how I can add "waiting for network".

I have only LMS running on the Pi, no player so Squeezelite is disabled
on Tweaks page.

I'm using 2 payers, a Squeezebox Touch and the network player in my
Hegel amplifier (via UPnP/DLNA bridge plugin).
Both players didn't play the FLAC streams.

These are exactly the same symptoms I experienced after a power
failure.
I rebooted pCP (and thus LMS) and everything was fine again.

In the situation I'm referring to there was no power failure and *both*
FLAC streams didn't play until I restarted LMS.
This happened to me 3 times last week, but not always.
It looks like I have to do some more testing (different stream types
etc) to see what's really happening.

How is the rpi connected to the network

Is anything connected to the rpi; usb hardrive ? that sort of thing

And a copy of the boot log might help;

this is mine (the waiting for network might help)

This is just a rpi3b with LMS v8.2.0 and only the Radio Paradise Plugin
installed

And what is the player you are using ?

This one has me scratching my head a bit...

Can you tell me, restart is required for which of these, or all? - FLAC,
FLAC Interactive, 320kbps, and all of the flavors (main, rock,
mellow...)

I am the guy that had issues with power failures. My symptoms were
this:
Flac Interactive would not play
Flac would play, but with no artwork, song info, just a RP logo and
banner
320kbps would play fine
On my touch, the clock screen saver would be black. This turned out to
be the smoking gun, come home, no clock, "we had a power failure!"

btw, the latest RP plugin is 3.1.1.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS needs to be restarted to play Radio Paradise FLAC.

2022-03-24 Thread radekker

I have LMS 8.2.0 running with the latest version of PicorePlayer (8.1.0
64Bit) on a Pi 3B.
When starting to listen to Radio Paradise FLAC (using RP plugin) LMS has
to be rebooted first.

I read in this forum that this could happen after a power failure
because PicorePlayer normally boots faster than the router.
In my case, however, this also happens when there is no power failure at
all.

This is what my LMS log file looks like:

Does anyone have clue what the cause of this issue might be?
