Is the difficulty to update SSL Library a Perl version (5.14 is too
old) issue or an Activestate one ?

Sure Michael. What logging levels would you like? Just debug for
plugin.fulltext? Or anything else?
John
That brings the scan time down to 50 minutes.
That sounds like a decent improvement :-). Could you please post the
server.log content?

Yes, FTS is all I'm interested in at this point. Thanks!

Is it realy Windows? LMS 7.9.1 works fine with repository.

I checked that folder now, and actually the file exists. And after the
restart it gets a new timestamp, maybe that means it is being downloaded
repeatedly?
Enable logging for plugin.extensions and server.plugins, check the "keep
settings on restart" box, save, re-try. You should then get more

We switched to using https after 7.9.1. This version is using what later
versions would be falling back to.

It is right after the restart.

What is that problem about exactly? I can see that the download
completes, the file is fully on the file system, and still when I

If the complete file is downloaded then that is not the problem.
However, changes were made to the plugin download code for 7.9.3 ... if
you cannot move to that version (or higher) then you could try to merge
in the changes ... (risky)

OK. There's nothing about FTS in the server.log, but the scanner.log

Even with that log settings LMS does not provide more information beyond
the file
It's a symptom of a larger issue we'll be facing with the Windows
builds: its outdated SSL library which can't easily be updated.
Is the difficulty to update SSL Library a Perl version (5.14 is too

1. Activestate + SDK update
There's no SDK update. They dropped it and encourage people to stop
using it.

2. Strawberry perl + PAR::Packer

If you're willing to put in the effort, I think it worth a go to see if
an updated IO::Sockets::SSL can be built with 5.14. At the very least,
it should give an indication whether this option is a non-runner.
That would be great indeed! I've been delaying it as my experience

I'm pretty sure they are the same, but I'm not sure where I'd look! I
run the same plugins on both, Formatting and Interface are set the same,
the iTunes plugin is removed on both. Any other places I should look?

A note on the 8.0 system. It shows both the Album Artist followed by the
Artist. The 7.9.4 system just shows the Album Artist.
