I went to the site: www.iplocation.net
This site gives a geographical location for an IP address. It actually
seems to try to resolve the location using more than one method. It
indicated that I could be in any of several suburbs of Dallas based on
my currently assigned internet ip address.
Depends how or even if your ISP is assigning/managing/reporting their IP
address' as to what is "Local". Say you have TWC and your next door
neighbor has ATT.
TWC may report your IP address as a very general area, like Midwest TX.
Where as ATT may report your IP address down to a specific block

One other observation about the squeezebox Radio Listing verses using
the tunein app listing. I have noticed a few differences in the station
listings for the DFW area between using these these two methods.
Although I can't see the local stations list, the lists organized by

Yes, I do remember the name radiotime. It has been a long time since I
would have signed up for that. Many years. Your observation that the
zipcode doesn't make a difference is helpful and confirms why changing
my zipcode had no effect.
Logging out of Tunein and listing locals still leaves me
Update:
I have contacted Tunein support and they have responded and requested a
screenshot of the blank local stations page and asked if I was using a
VPN which I am not. I'm hoping they will be able to come up with some
answers.

Looks like TuneIn does not even use our zip input to determine "Local"
anymore. I logged into TuneIn, entered two different zip's way out of
my true "Local" zip, yet every time I hit "Local" I only get my actual
location locals. I know this use to work back when it was RadioTime

TuneIn used to be RadioTime. Might try contacting TuneIn directly if
their site isn't recognizing your zip code(s). What zip are you using?
Although TuneIn is the background for anything under the Internet Radio
menu item I believe that still relies solely on your IP address. The
