If you don't own a Ruby and haven't ever run one, I'm not sure you're
qualified yet to make this assertion. Lots of Ruby owners have
found that the no. 6 jet leaves a lot of water in the boile

Not to worry (yet?). This is pretty common in my experience with
the engine on blocks. If it still clicks when you get weight on the
wheels, then look for fouling cause

Hello everyone,
Another problem with the fuel system that I have personally encountered is
the o-ring on the fuel regulator itself.
If you open the fuel regulator and keep "un-screwing" it, you can remove the
needle valve from the valve itself.
My o-ring had actually cracked and a small pie

Quite sure about the filling of the tank. I've gone through three 3oz
cans of butane and I get sprayed each time. ;) As for the blockage, I
can move the fire into the smokebox if I turn it up high enough. I really
don't think that's it. I did notice today though that the burner

I'm in TX. It was about 80F when I was running this afternoon. Lack of

O.K. Let's try this again. We aren't together here. I misread what was
happening on your end. The over tightened "O" ring would let the gas leak.
This would have the effect of not enough gas pressure or a weak fire that
would boil water slowly if at all. I have no idea why the fire would blow

If you are using butane and the temp is 60 f or below you might try putting your
can of butane in hot water, About 100 deg or you can do as I do and through it in
my hot tub for 3 or 4 minutes . when you add butane to your Ruby tank it cools
the fuel as it flows through the valve and wont vaporize

Did any RR other than The Pennsylvania have two different sets of running
lights on the front of their loco's? The K-4's had a set for forward and a
set for going in reverse.
Just trying to broaden my knowledge to keep up with the expansion of the
backside.

Is it true that in your homeland the locomotive driver (that is the correct
term there isn't it?) is on the starboard side (i.e., right side as in left

If that is true, why did us rebels not copy the Brit Automobile
Why would an over tightened O-ring cause the flame to blow out? There is
always a rushing sound, it's just that the flame is there for a while
but then it blows out. :/ I'll check the ring, but that seems like an
odd place for the issue to lie.

Has anyone installed a servo in the Aster Mikado? There's not much space
there and I haven't conjured up a good way to do it yet. Any suggestions
appreciated.

Here's a question for Uncle Goeffie What is the British Thermal Unit
