Hey folks, if we're going to go for the Valentine's Day Release
Massacre, we need to get the last 5 bugs closed. Any progress to report
by anyone?

I am used to dealing with EJBs so I am probably not as sympathetic as I
should have been to people that have written web applications without EJBs.
In a sense, the business logic code in those non-EJB web apps is hidden away
from other applications that might want to use it, without copying it

I can see the appeal of exposing the web application's code as web
services
using Axis. It seems like exposing Action classes directly as web
services
will be more trouble than it's worth. It would seem better to move the
code
in the Action class into another class (not tied to Struts/Web)
Hal,
I started this thread thinking not in terms of a holistic optimal
architecture but a simple lightweight generic Axis access method. I
completely concur with you and others that if requirements drive a
ground up architectural integration of a combination of User Access and
Application access

Great I see where that code is happening, so my next question is if the Digester loads
all the actions what is the purpose of having the RequestProcessor do the same thing?

Curse Microsoft and they're dreaded viruses! I've had network problems all
day because of that SQL Server virus and now I can't commit a simple patch.
Sorry, just had to vent.

Maybe I'm displaying gross ignorance here but AFAIK a synchronized block
grabs the object's monitor and blocks other threads from calling
*synchronized* methods on that object, right? Unsynchronized methods on
that object can be called at will.
I'm looking at LookupDispatchAction for PR
The synch. blocks do only allow one thread through that section at a time
which may be the intended behavior. It still seems like the member variable
Maps should be synchronized. Lack of sleep has some negative affects
sometimes...
