Connected my Mares Dive Link cable to my Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (using a
USB-C OTG cable), and the USB Device Info app said the following:
Device Info
Device Path: /dev/bus/usb/001/002
Device Class: Use class information in the Interface Descriptors (0x0)
Vendor ID: 10c4
Vendor Name
nto the difference between 4.7.4.280
and the next release and try to understand what was changed between these
two releases in this area ... ;)

But, I guess Dirk is right, there is still some confusion about using OTG
cable, Bluetooth Link, FTDI etc, so there are still some hurdles to pass ...

What several people have mentioned and tested, is that version 4.7.4.280 in
the Android app seems to work with USB OTG, but any version after that
fails. I'm running Oreo 8.0, and I have other apps that work with my DC
using OTG, so Oreo and the HW supports it.

none of them worked. Some models doesn't enable OTG without restarting the
phone with the cable inserted (to avoid powerleakage with nothing
connected), but all phone "detects" the DC (at least the cable led turns
