different websites. The first doesn't even seem to be tangentially related
to sugar.

folks, hi,
yesterday i thought i'd investigate doing a port of sugar to
pyjamas[-desktop]. reading around i saw the project ideas page, and
filled in a section:
http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Development_Team/Project_Ideas#Port_of_Sugar_to_Pyjamas-Desktop
i haven't presumed to place a "priority" on
a Sugar Labs member, you will get the oppertunity to vote in elections
determining the project's governance, such as the upcoming Oversight
Board<http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Oversight_Board> 2009-2001
Election <http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Oversight_Board/2009-2010-candidates>

What about for the writable part of the filesystem, since squashfs is
read-only?
r with how USB flash works, so I don't know if USB-{FDD,
ZIP, HDD} layouts are compatible with the layout you'd want to minimize
wear.

Well, the USB format idea was left unimplemented as we (I) couldn't get it
working, but we should probably take a look at makebootfat to achieve the

Is ext4 (with journaling disabled) resistant to these sort of problems?

Won't this have the side effect of a segmented development community? On
which list would consensus be authoritative?

Worse than that, it's complete FUD. This is something you'd expect
from MSFT, but not the FSF. The number of XOs shipped with Windows is
still 0.

For locked laptops you would *need* to get a developer key, or have OLPC
sign the file. The latter won't happen.
