It sounds like you have edited the .net.xml file directly. This is
inadvisable. Instead edit the file with the netedit application.

Version 1.11.0 only supports 24hour values. For aggregating by time you
need the latest development version of tripInfoByType. (call it with option
--interval 3600).
Get it at

Hi there! Is editing a highway imported from OSM web wizard advisable? I've
been trying to add a highway to one of the intersections, but no vehicles
are crossing it even though it's connected

Thanks, Jakob! I'll definitely try out the "extra" version of SUMO.

Thanks. Is another alternative to solving this problem consist of going
into netedit and putting further distance between the junctions? Will this
solve the problem as well?

Possibly the file isn't fully written. If you created it by running
sumo-gui, make sure to close the gui before reading the file.

Hello, never mind it, worked perfectly! However it does seem like the stat
is just the 24 hour count. Is there an hourly count available? Thanks again!

Hello Jakob, I got this error, not sure what it means? I just ran
tripinfobytype with the file and it said ParseError: no element found

Hi Jakob,
The current version of Game Bar hasn't changed since 2018, but maybe it
uses something in Windows 10 which has changed? A workaround is to use Hand
Brake to crop the video after it is captured, although the resolution
suffers a bit. Are there any other ways to capture SUMO simulations?
Thanks for the quick response Jakob. I suspect Game Bar/Windows 10 has
changed since the results using the older version of SUMO (from a couple
years ago) and the current version are the same. I will try and see if I
can get an older version of the Game Bar which is more compatible with SUMO.
Yes. But also see

I've never tested the Game Bar with SUMO.
My guess would be that the current Game Bar version doesn't fully support
the older OpenGL API calls that SUMO is using (whereas an older version
did).
You could verify this by testing an older version of SUMO to check if that
makes a difference.

The jam you encounter is a known issue for OSM derived networks.
See https://sumo.dlr.de/docs/Networks/Import/OpenStreetMap.html#junctions

You can use routeSampler option --attributes "type=\"cars\"" to assign a
type in your generated route file.
Then define a vTypeDistribution with id="cars" that defines all the
different types and their probabilities.
See

Has anyone else had trouble capturing video of SUMO simulations using the
Xbox Gamebar which comes with Windows 10? The resulting video shows the
SUMO window at only 2/3 of its actual size and the rest of the space is
filled black.

The tool is located in sumo\tools\output and will provide the 24h vehicle

You can customize the service period, either by setting the 'period'
attribute of a ptLine element or by setting ptlines2flows.py option
--period. A lower period increases the rate of vehicles entering (and ofc.
you need to call ptlines2flows.py again).

Hello, please help! I apologize for sending another email but I'm in need

Hi all! I just thought I'd ask if there was a way to increase the rate of
buses or jeeps entering the simulation based on the routes generated in
pt_lines? Hopefully it will be according to a set time (in my case, 86400
seconds). Thanks!
