Running the above command

Is the above a known problem? I would appreciate an advise on how to proceed.

Thanks.

[freenet-support] installing Freemail - short address

2009-07-30 Thread Anon
Hi there,
in XP Pro:
all worked fine up to installing a short
address.
I didnot have/take a chance to copy and
paste the long address.

When I type in the correct command Java
hangs up after giving a long message
stating it is installed, the command
module doesnot progress to the next
command line. The cursor blinks directly
behind the message.
What can I do about that?
Thanks already,
Bill.
P.S. bill (all lower case)is the user name.

[freenet-support] installing with java 1.5.0 rc

2004-09-19 Thread snowcrash
I just completed a fresh install of XP and one of the last things on the
list was Freenet. I had already installed the Sun JDK ver. 1.5.0rc, but
the installer will not recognize it and so fails. I don't want to
install an earlier version of java, but will if I must. Anybody have a
work around? Thanks.

perhaps it would be wise to add this statement to the new freenet website.

in germany there does exist an ISP called "Freenet", which will confuse people with
the "Freenet Project" if they're too lazy/busy to find out the correct support
address and mail the first email address they come across, regardless if it's
something completely different (and without wondering why the website is not
german but english ;)

Freenet is not an internet access program; it's a program that uses
your existing connection to anonymously share information. As such,
it's not available on CD (unless you have a friend burn you a copy),
and there's no good reason for the maintainers to start producing CDs
for people.

Subject:  installing

i don't know if my last message made it through but the
steps i did was

1.downloaded freenet installed it

2.downloaded java 1.3.1 and installed it

3.ran freenet and it gave me a error (java virtual machine
launcher : could not find main class. program will exit !) but it doesn't exit
it puts it in the systray and has a blinking rabbit with a strike through it

4 fixed fluancher.ini to point javaexec and javaw to the
correct paths and then it gave me this error (you need to put javaw= pointing
to javaw.exe or java= pointing to java.exe

5.tried to goto http://localhost:8081

page that says page not found .

if I did explain well enough then email me back I’ll explain

I've had this same issue (P90 Win98). It says that it's having problems,
but it works fine. Sounds like some little glitch somewhere. I mean, if
Freenet still works, I don't worry about
it..__
