the search for ar6000 returned nothing, i'm not sure if its supposed to be a
module in the fso release or not though, i checked the modules directory and
there were modules for other stuff. Perhaps i should put shr on my
freerunner to check

I don't know if your kernel has the wlan-driver builtin or as module
(try: find /lib/modules -name ar6000.ko) If it is shown, try modprobe
ar6000. Then check dmesg | grep AR6000, does that give you some
messages? Is the interface eth0 shown in cat /proc/net/wireless?
Same issues here. I haven't had working WiFi since I started using SHR a few
weeks ago. I guess I thought it just wasn't working for the time being.
I get nothing from either 'dmesg | grep AR6000' or 'cat /proc/net/wireless'
So I guess others have working WiFi? Wild.

Try to request it with dbus with a command like
mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.odeviced
/org/freesmartphone/Device/PowerControl/WiFi
org.freesmartphone.Device.PowerControl.SetPower 1
BTW, I wish someonw could go back and fix the kernel driver so that the
eth0 always
