you can also do this trick I'm using:
Install the full version
edit: /etc/platform and change pfsense to embedded
reboot
voila!
now you have a keyboard and vga, no writes to the disk but still no extensions
:-(

For three day my 0.83 seems to have strange
comportments...
After a day or so, the wan side seems to fail...
ewerythig else works ok... then I'm forced to do a
reboot and it works for a day and fail... :-(
I disabled the dyndns service
