If you are formatting your E-mail as HTML, that causes your problem.
There are actually two problems with HTML-formatted E-mails.

One is the fact that not all E-mail applications handle HTML in the same
manner. Even if your recipient also is viewing the message as HTML, his
or her application might not handle tables the same way, especially if
you are using a font that the recipient does not have.

The other problem -- more likely -- is that the recipient is viewing
E-mail as plain text, which fails to use the formatting you created with
HTML.

I use tabs or periods as column breaks.

The Belgian site is almost useless for me.
User agent: Mozilla/8.0 (Windows NT 12.0; Win128; x128; rv:77.0)
Gecko/20200101 Firefox/55.0

(Actually 2.40).
It works fine in IE11 but like Ant said, there are tons of popups and
ads that I block with SM.  Also, it can change to Dutch and I wonder
if that version loads in the background.  Have not looked at the
source code to see.

Normally the problem is with SM - because it goes well with FireFox.
It looks like SM is trying to do something in the background that he
cannot achieve...and retry it forever.

Copy yhe link of each site and validate the code here

I think you will see a difference.

Very slow on my decade old 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC. I noticed it had tons
of pop-ups and ads blocked by uBlock Origin. I think this web site is
bloated.

but it works very well with FireFox.

Here is the normal speed of the French page/site:

Much faster with fewer ads and no pop-ups.

SeaMonkey v2.49.x is using older Firefox v52's Gecko engine. I bet you
Firefox v52 would have the same problem. Newer Firefox versions, with
Quantum, doesn't have this problem.

You should contact Belgian's web site staff about this issue. They
will probably tell use to Firefox, Edge, Chrome, etc. though. :(

I don't have any troubles with this pages with the unofficial 2.53.

Have you try to spoof your useragent for this website?

Yes:
user_pref("general.useragent.override.decathlon.be", "Mozilla/5.0
(Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.0)  Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0");

But still the same problem too slow navigating in the page.
FireFox works well.

Do you mean how does the recipient view the mail in the same way you
sent it?

How are you making the neatly typed vertical columns?

Using Insert > Table... in HTML composition should help.

Neither one is exactly fast to load or move, but the Belgian one is slower. I
noticed the same thing with Pale Moon. They both load faster and scroll
faster with Slimjet.
