How to add new toolbar button in Seamonkey 2.05
Hi, I've downloaded a Firefox toolbar button from http://merlinsoftware.com/auctionmagic/downloads.htm it is a firefox toolbar button, but I was told it should probably work in Seamonkey as well. Now, it's in my root drive C:\ but does nothing. Should it be added automatically, or do I have to add it manually, and if so, HOW?!?!? The file is called: Add_to_AuctionMagic.xpi and is meant to add an auction to a bidding programm, so it is not just a web address. Anyone?? All have their different quirks, trolls, spam, etc., etc. On msgFilterRules.dat wouldn't work for me. Having the ability to have an independent/individual msgFilterRules.dat for each is essential to me. Ditto. Starting from a common file was a help, as I saved a ton of typing. NNTP Bridge and SeaMonkey 2.0.5
I am aware that my source of help for Microsoft problems will be gone effective 1 October (i.e., microsoft.public.windowsxp.general and microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion). To date, I have been able to access both groups using SeaMonkey without any problems. Now I understand I will have to download something called NNTP Bridge software in order to access the replacement forum for the XP group (98 group in already gone forever). Will the NNTP Bridge work with SeaMonkey and if so how do I make that happen? Will it be necessary for me to access these groups via Internet Explorer? Is there some guide out for how to make SeaMonkey work with the new Microsoft forums? As you can see, I am really lost as to how to proceed. I have never used Internet Explorer - never. My moving to this browser, even for accessing this forum, is not something I look forward to doing. I was really hoping that somebody here had some experience with the steps I need to take to make SeaMonkey access the Microsoft forums. Here are some references to the subject I am attempting to understand: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.security.baseline_analyzertid=0f06c0fa-ea9d-4142-9bd5-c31380548383cat=lang=cr=sloc=p=1 http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.security.baseline_analyzertid=d9493e32-dea4-457c-82e0-95f0aac097f9cat=lang=cr=sloc=p=1 http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/default.mspx http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.security.baseline_analyzertid=d9493e32-dea4-457c-82e0-95f0aac097f9cat=lang=cr=sloc=p=1 http://www.microsoft.com/communities/forums/default.mspx http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/help Please understand that this old man is not the sharpest tool in town when it comes to this type of computer fixing.
