Seamonkey 2.33.1

Hi, Windows 10 just forced itself on me. Which I guess is OK, but.

Seamonkey runs for a while and then slows to a grind and eventually
stops. The little blue swirly thing goes and goes and goes and when I
check Task Manager, Seamonkey is taking an awful lot of RAM (like over
25%).

I will close down Seamonkey and then reload it. Things go ok for a
while and then the same thing. I reboot entirely... same thing only
shorter time.

Any help? Or do I have to wait until there's a SM released
specifically
for Win10?

B/

I totally wiped out my system, then did a bare bones install of Win 7
Pro 64-bit, then downloaded Win 10. I added SeaMonkey and my other
programs after, and SeaMonkey is doing just fine.

That's wy above and beyond me, but thanks.

Any chance you've tried to run SeaMonkey in compatibility mode?

What is compatibility mode? Seamonkey Help displays no items found.

(Sorry, 30 years ago I was a brain surgeon/rocket scientist/sanjaygupta

IQ points a year to a point I barely understand *anything*)

Looks like others have already answered. You can also type
"compatibility" into the Windows 10 "Search Windows" box, then choose
"Search My Stuff" and the program/tool will pop up. Then it will scan
your programs and you can highlight SeaMonkey, or any other program that
has problems.

Just by taking a look at

could think that Adrian Kalla will not provide any more binaries for
SeaMonkey on Linux 32-bits...

Hello,

I'm using Seamonkey 2.33.1 on Windows Professional Service Pack 1.

I've searched all resources for a solution and have not found any.

Bug:

When returning from Sleep, the Status Bar (at bottom of page with the security
icon and the mail icon) is missing. Closing Seamonkey and re-starting it
returns the status bar and all is good. Never had this bug with previous
versions.

Can you help?

Thank you..Sam

Dont use sleep/hibernate, MS still fails to recover properly from them.

Just shut down.

Or use a password protected screensaver.

By chance, I'm a Debian user, even if a not very good at it!

In any case, the reason why I remain under a 32-bit OS, is not the
lack of a modern processor (my Intel E5400 maybe would be good enough).

http://ark.intel.com/products/40478/Intel-Pentium-Processor-E5400-2M-Cache-2_70-GHz-800-MHz-FSB

But, and I believe it's something similar for others, is because when
a machine has only 2GB of ram, (and life circumstances do not allow,
at this time, for memory upgrade or for simply buy a new PC), it
probably would be counterproductive try to run a 64-bit system in such
modest hardware.

But anyway, I do not want to get off the subject ...

Could you provide a link to an exe file that is being blocked? For

What is compatibility mode? Seamonkey Help displays no items found.

Navigate to the SeaMonkey installation folder. Right-click the
seamonkey.exe file. Click "properties" in the pop-up menu. Click the
compatibility tab. Put a check in the box for "Run this program in
compatibility mode for:". Select Windows 7. Try the program again and
see if it solved anything.

FWIW, I'm running SM on two Windows 10 systems with no issues at all.
