Maybe more in https://blog.seamonkey-project.org/ soon.
Great release! Getting strange CPU spikes when opening
javascript-intense pages. Also, after a few hours of browsing, my GPU
use spikes to over 40% as well. I somewhat remember running into these
problems in a Firefox nightly awhile ago, so perhaps this is just some
holdover bug from back then. Will test against 2.49 tomorrow to make
sure that this was not always the case. Win10 x86.

Is your SeaMonkey user agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64;
rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0?

Firefox 46 is probably not supported on that site.

Yes, that is my user agent. It's the same on my laptop where I can
access the site normally.

The site loads for me using SeaMonkey 2.49.1, with a notification "Parts
of the page that track your online activity were blocked" with buttons
to Keep Blocking, Unblock or Preferences.

I usually click the "x" to close that notification.

I have both items checked under the Safe Browsing heading of the Privacy
& Security preferences.

Hope you resolve the problem. Compare settings between the 2 computers.

See if it's listed in Data Manager, adjust permissions?

I was thinking maybe you had inadvertently blocked it and needed to
unblock it.

Can you tell from the form and placement of the error message who's
sending it? I mean, is it SeaMonkey, or the website, or your firewall,
or what?

Can't tell who is blocking it. Just that statement in black, bold

The download problem is now fixed. Unfortunately the update problem is not.
This might need another round or a new build so please download the full
2.49.1 installer if you are not already prompted for an update and use a
system which matches the requirements.

Have you tried visiting the site in Safe Mode? Is it possible that your

Is addons.mozilla.org non-webextension-friendly, or should we start
looking elsewhere for Seamonkey-compatible extensions made available by
authors who create both versions (or who only develop a non-webextension
version)?

Plugins are Flash, Silverlight and so on.

Extensions are uBlock Origin, NoScript and the like.

uBlock Origin web extension won't work in SeaMonkey, nor will any other web
extension.

Users will be stuck using old XUL extensions and won't get any updates.

How can I check, in my SM, which installed plugins and/or Extensions are in
