there any other Mac users having problems entering their master password?

I'm using a Mac.

After installing SeaMonkey 2.0:

- the box requesting my master password kept popping up (I can't recall
setting one by the way)

- boxes popped up for all my email account passwords, after entering
them, I could see my mail, but SeaMonkey was putting up extra Draft,
Sent, etc. folders

- the master password box kept getting in the way of things, and I
couldn't get out of SeaMonkey without a forced quit

Needless to say, I've reverted to Seamonkey 1.x and all is working again.

Also, needless to say, I'm not willing to do a hard reset on the master
password and lose all my passwords, cookies, etc.

Rather a problem.

Hi,

I'm using Mac and had the same problem.
I just set my master password to '' (empty) and none of my password,
cookie,... was deleted. It just stop to ask Master pwd!

Sorry, are you suggesting that you want to download your email into
Outlook, on an ongoing bases, and then, read that email in SeaMonkey, on
an ongoing basis???

Why not just download the email directly into SeaMonkey?? If you must
have a complete set of emails in Outlook, set SeaMonkey to download
copies of the emails, leaving the original on the server to be
downloaded into Outlook!

Yes, our wonderfull 'manager' decide to use Excahnge as mail server (why
not, it's up to them) but they decide also to force people to use the
deficient outlook by not activating actual mail protocole (POP, IMAP,
...) but only the fake MAPI !

All my history, filters, etc are on Seamonkey, I very satisfy to use it
and don't want change for an erzatz of client.

Unless somebody has another solution i will open outlook and import mail
from time to time into Seamonkey...

Under SeaMonkey 2.53.3 release notes (in RED):
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/

This version of SeaMonkey makes changes to your profile that can't be
reverted in the case where you want to go back to an earlier version.
You MUST absolutely do a full backup of your profile before using this
application.

I never saw anything like this on previous versions.
Is it something to be REALLY concerned with?

A case on pc win7: I try 2.53.3 and it doesn't work on some securised
site, so I came back to 2.53.2 and Lightning doesn't work at all since...

On macOS all is fine.

Updates are still not available via Check-for-updates unfortunately.  I
am *still* working on it.

Thanks to all involved.
