[freenet-support] node references

2004-08-13 Thread Robert Greenage

I had a node reference until I had to reformat my hard drive. Can anyone post a node reference link for stable?

So it would seem... where did you fetch it from? What browsers did you
try? We have nothing to do with activex...

Nope.. Try downloading the seednodes.ref file manually from
http://freenetproject.org/snapshots/seednodes.ref

Put it in the 'Freenet' folder on your harddrive and restart the node to
make use of it.

Open an MS-DOS prompt. Then use DOS commands (CD for change directory,
etc.) to navigate to the Freenet directory. Usually this will be:

  c:
  cd myprog~1
  cd freenet

Once you're in that directory, you can use any sort of file viewing or
editing program. The most basic one is "more", which you can use in
this way:

When I try to open the "seednodes" or "myown" files,
to get a look at what is in them, all that happens is
that a DOS window opens, something happens that is
obviously some sort of program running, and then it
shuts down again. How can I look in the node
reference files? Thanx in advance.
