One may think this argument is silly (and feel free to criticize - especially if the facts are off. However, if the facts are off, please cite sources for correct facts!) However, this leads me to think that since so much CO2 production is unavoidable (breathing is a right:-)), maybe we should

It's not off-topic, feel free. /list owner mode I think you're missing one crucial fact - yes, we humans breathe, but what we breathe is in the current account, not the reserves. It's existing CO2 that just gets recirculated. We're carbon-neutral, at least as far as breathing goes. When

To all, Regarding increasing the CO2 absorption rate, consider massive plantings of the KENAF plant as it has one of the highest exchange ratios of the plant world. China is now growing over a MILLION acres, mostly for non-wood fiber newsprint with a lot of financial backing from Japan. Charles

maybe we should focus on increasing CO2 absorption. I remember a description of a city built of diamond. Some sci-fi novel of 50 years ago but the point is removing CO2 from the atmosphere -- and I can't see that happening without economic incentive. The technology doesn't exist yet I fear.

I doubt the independent retailers know about, or care about fuel efficiency If it worked, somebody small would have bought a 55 gallon drum of the stuff and repackaged it as the newest miracle. The label wouldn't say what the active ingredient is probably. Heck, if it works, I'll do it.

Michael, humans burn food which is renewably produced from sunlight and other things. Humans probably replace other forms of animal biomass to a considerable extent rather than being something new in the biosphere's cycles. Finally, yes, carbon in both living and dead organic matter - trees,

Selling fuel is a stable low risk business. The independent retailers don't generally see radical change as part of their business model. Otherwise why aren't they all selling B20? There are two or three groups where people report their mileage and some people are reporting good
